Hosting Agreement for Groups and Services Accessing the Lámh Contract Training System
The Lámh Contract Training System has been introduced to facilitate groups and services to access Lámh training. Contract Training courses are of a consistently high standard and are run by experienced Lámh Tutors who have been trained by Lámh. In order to ensure that all Lámh training courses run smoothly, the outlined training specifications must be followed. Please read through the hosting agreement outlined below.
(1) Venue
The Host Agency/organisation will:
Provide a venue appropriate to the training needs, i.e., venue can facilitate both classroom style and signing group formats.
Provide necessary equipment such as a digital projector, and discuss other equipment needs with the Lámh Tutor prior to training.
Appoint a course organiser.
Ensure that the Lámh Tutor has a contact number for the course organiser for the duration of the course, particularly if training is taking place at weekends or evenings.
(2) Number of participants The maximum number of participants per Lámh Tutor is 12 (as Lámh courses involve sign training).
(3) Participants It is preferable that training groups for Modules One and the QQI (formerly FETAC) ULTCA Course should include participants from a range of professions, who are working with, or starting to work with, Lámh users, as the training is greatly enhanced if the group can draw on a range of experiences and skills (please ask for full set of criteria for ULTCA participants).
(4) Materials
A full set of materials must be provided to each participant. Materials become the sole property of the individual participant.
Materials for courses need to be ordered by the Tutor in conjunction with the hosting group at least 3 weeks before the course commences.
Materials will be delivered to the Lámh Tutor and will be supplied to participants at training.
The Tutor will return any unused materials to the Development Office.
Lámh holds the copyright to all materials and should not be photocopied or generally released to staff.
The hosting group must pay for materials before the course has commenced and payment for materials will be made directly to Lámh following an invoice.
(5) Tutor Fee The Tutor fee will be paid directly to the Lámh Tutor.
(6) Cancellation Policy Hosting groups must inform the Lámh Tutor of a cancellation 2 weeks prior to the commencement of training. Should the hosting group cancel training within the 2-week period prior to training, 50% of the Tutor Training fee will be charged (unless cancellation of training was in response to a national directive relating to training, e.g. foot and mouth outbreak, national strike action).
(7) Advertising Lámh Courses The purpose of the Lámh Contract Training system is to provide services and groups requiring Lámh training with the opportunity to access this training as and when required. On occasion, the Host Group may seek to ‘top-up’ their participant numbers by advertising and offering places to external participants. Please note that the number of external participants must not exceed the number of participants from within the group or service. Host Groups must ensure that participants are informed about the Lámh training on offer using wording provided by Lámh, which is readily available from the Lámh Development Office.
(8) Participant Fees charged by Host Groups Participant Fees charged by Host Groups for Lámh courses must not exceed the amounts set by Lámh. Information on this is available from the Lámh Development Office.
