Department of Education recognises Lámh Training for staff

Hands joined together symbolising unity

Lámh has received confirmation that the Department of Education and Science officially recognises Lámh training for staff.   It has stated that 'the Department is agreeable that staff attend this training, subject to the usual concessions in relation to such courses*.'

Over the past number of years, Education Centres in Wexford, Waterford, Laois, Dublin, Sligo and Leitrim have run Lámh training for teachers and SNAs, either as part of the Summer Programme or as night courses.

Teachers and SNAs also have attended Lámh courses run by service providers for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in their area.
