Lámh Tutor Training is delivered by members of the Lámh Board of Directors.  Participants are those who:

  • are working in healthcare/education
  • use Lámh extensively in their work
  • have attended Modules One and Two and
  • wish to deliver Lámh Courses. 

 

How often are Lámh Tutor Training Courses held?


When there are sufficient numbers of qualified, experienced applicants who are in a position to deliver Lámh training following the Tutor Course.  The most recent Tutor Training Course was held in All Hallows, Dublin, in November 2008.  Previous courses have been held in Portlaoise and Tullamore.

 

Are all Lámh Tutors Speech and Language Therapists?


No, Lámh Tutors come from various disciplines.  Currently:
•  58% of Lámh Tutors are speech and language therapists
•  12 % are from nursing backgrounds
•  7.5% are pre-school co-ordinators and home teachers
•  10% work in adult services
•  6% are teachers and
•  6.5% have other roles such as child development officer, psychologist, etc.

 

The Lámh Tutor Training course covers the elements of planning and implementing staff and family Lámh training packages.  An application process is in place.
